Thanks for your time! @devianttea: I'm not sure why Sony made it this way, but you have to delete the disc version and download the digital version. I've done this with both Destiny games and a few others. Until you delete the disc version (even though both games are the same), it will require the disc to be inserted.

Oct 25, 1, No Man's Sky was doing this to me. After I played the PS5 version for a little bit and created a PS5 save file it seems to have fixed it. Maybe go into settings and see if there's a PS4 save file still on your system. That might be triggering it.
